Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. is a development-stage company. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Sabine Pass LNG, L.P. (Sabine Pass LNG), the Company owns and operates the Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal. During the year ended December 31, 2008, Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal was under construction in western Cameron Parish, Louisiana on the Sabine Pass Channel. The Company formed Sabine Pass LNG to own, develop and operate the Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal. The Company entered into leases for three tracts of land consisting of 853 acres in Cameron Parish, Louisiana for the project site. The Company had completed physical construction of the initial 2.6 billion cubic feet/day (Bcf/d) of send out capacity and 10.1 Bcf of storage capacity at its LNG receiving terminal during 2008.
