Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL) is an India-based wind power company. The Company is engaged in the manufacture of wind turbine generators (WTGs) of various capacities and its components. Its other operations include sale/sub-lease of land, infrastructure development income, sale of gear boxes, sale of foundry and forging components, and power generation. It has manufacturing plants at Daman, Pondichery, Bhuj, Chhadwel (Dhule) and Vadodara. The Company’s subsidiaries include Hansen Drives Limited, Hansen Drives Pte Limited, Hansen Wind Energy Drives (China) Co Ltd., PowerBladesGmbH, PowerBlades SA, REpower Australia Pty Ltd. and REpower Canada Inc. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2009 (fiscal 2009), the Company acquired a 37.82% interest in REpower Systems AG. The Company operates in India, Europe, United States and China.
