Pixim develops imaging technology for the security camera industry. Its chipsets are designed with the company's branded Digital Pixel System technology, which filters out glare, allowing for a clearer picture. Unlike analog CCD cameras where pixels work as one unit, Pixim's all-digital technology allows each pixel to receive and adjust images separately for a higher-resolution outcome. The Digital Pixel System has applications in industrial automation, medical imaging, motion picture production, and surveillance. Customers include Cisco, GE Security, Honeywell, Pelco, and Siemens. The Digital Pixel technology was originally developed at Stanford University and licensed to Pixim. Pixim was founded in 1999.
