Marmon's manufacturing units make automotive components and trailers, food service equipment, wire and cable, industrial materials and components, consumer products, transportation equipment, building products, and water-treatment products. Services include marketing and distribution. Marmon is an international association of companies that operates about 250 facilities in more than 40 countries. Chicago's Pritzker family (owners of the Hyatt hotel chain) sold a 60% stake in The Marmon Group to Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway for $4.5 billion in 2008.
