Managing an insurance syndicate is all in a day's work for Faraday Holdings. The company is parent to Faraday Underwriting, which in turn administers the Faraday Syndicate 435 (a registered syndicate on the Lloyd's of London exchange). The company provides policy underwriting through three primary teams: property, casualty, and aviation. Funding for the syndicate is provided by another subsidiary, Faraday Capital. Berkshire Hathaway acquired the syndicate in 1999 and Faraday Holdings is now a subsidiary of Berkshire's General Re. Faraday Holdings is one part of the Faraday Group, which also includes Faraday Reinsurance (a separate unit of General Re).
