Description

NTELOS Holdings Corp. is a provider of wireless and wireline communications services to consumers and businesses primarily in Virginia and West Virginia under the NTELOS brand name. The Company’s wireless operations comprises an NTELOS-branded retail business and a wholesale business, which it operates under a contract with Sprint Spectrum L.P, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Sprint Nextel Corporation. As of December 31, 2008, its wireless retail business had approximately 435,000 NTELOS-branded subscribers. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company had a total of 1,183 cell sites. In January 2010, NTELOS Holdings Corp. announced that it acquired certain fiber optic and network assets, and related transport and data service revenues from Allegheny.
