Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. is a global direct selling company with operations in over 48 markets worldwide. The Company develops and distributes personal care products and nutritional supplements that are sold under the Nu Skin and Pharmanex brands. It conducts business using a direct selling model in all of its markets with the exception of Mainland China. As of December 31, 2008, the Company had a global network of approximately 761,000 active independent distributors, sales representatives, and preferred customers, approximately 31,000 of whom were executive level distributors (including sales representatives in China). Approximately 85% of its 2008 revenue came from markets outside the United States. Japan accounted for approximately 36% of its total revenue during 2008. Nu Skin Enterprises markets its personal care products under the Nu Skin brand, science-based nutritional supplements under the Pharmanex brand, and technology-based products and services under different brands.
