Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (Intuitive Surgical) is engaged in the designing, manufacturing and marketing of da Vinci Surgical Systems, EndoWrist instruments, and surgical accessories. The Company’s da Vinci Surgical Systems consist of a surgeon’s console, or consoles, a patient-side cart and a vision system. The da Vinci Surgical System controls Intuitive Surgical endoscopic instruments, including rigid endoscopes, blunt and sharp endoscopic dissectors, scissors, scalpels, forceps/pickups, needle holders, endoscopic retractors, basic and advanced electrocautery instruments, ultrasonic cutters, and accessories during a range of surgical procedures. The da Vinci Surgical System translates the surgeon’s natural hand movements performed on instrument controls at a surgeon’s console into corresponding micro-movements of instruments positioned inside the patient through small incisions, or ports.
