Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. (KGI) is an operating gold mining company located in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada, which owns the Macassa Mine and Mill and four contiguous formerly producing gold mining properties. The Macassa gold mine was developed on 11 mining claims by Macassa Mines Ltd., and operations were suspended indefinitely in 1999. The Kirkland Minerals mine is near the western end of the Kirkland Lake camp bounded to the west by the Macassa mine and to the east by the Teck-Hughes mine. The Teck-Hughes mine is bounded on the west by Kirkland Lake Gold and by the Lake Shore mine to the east. The Lake Shore mine is located in the center of the Kirkland Lake camp bounded to the west by the Teck-Hughes mine and to the east by the Wright-Hargreaves mine. The Wright-Hargreaves mine is located to the east of Lake Shore in the central portion of the Kirkland Lake camp.
