Some people are content to collect and dust their tchotchkes, but others are compelled to make them. A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts is eager to serve them all. The chain's 140-plus superstores (up from 17 in 1997) sell arts, crafts, and scrapbooking supplies, which account for about 60% of sales, as well as yarn, seasonal items, fashion crafts, home decor and picture frames, and everything else needed to glue, paint, or arrange. A.C. Moore also offers in-store arts-and-crafts classes. Its stores are located in more than a dozen states along the East Coast. Founded in 1985, A.C. Moore has been owned by regional arts and crafts retailer Sbar's, Inc., since 2011.
