Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Advanced Energy) designs, manufactures, sell and support industrial power conversion products that transform power into various usable forms. The Company’s products enable manufacturing processes that use thin-film deposition for various products, such as semiconductor devices, flat panel displays, solar panels and architectural glass, as well as grid-tie power conversion in the solar market. It also supplies gas flow control technology and thermal instrumentation products for control and detection of gases in the thin-film deposition process for these same markets. The Company provides solutions to a range of markets and geographic regions. During the year ended December 31, 2008 sales to customers in the semiconductor capital equipment industry accounted 52% of the Company’s sales. Other markets served by the Company include flat panel display, data storage, architectural glass, solar and other industrial thin-film manufacturing.
