Apollo Investment Corporation (Apollo Investment) is a closed-end, non-diversified management investment company that has filed an election to be treated as a business development company (BDC) under the Investment Company Act of 1940 (the 1940 Act). The investment objective of the Company is to generate both current income and capital appreciation through debt and equity investments. Apollo Investment invests primarily in middle-market companies in the form of mezzanine and senior secured loans, as well as by making equity investments. Its portfolio comprises primarily of investments in long-term subordinated debt, referred to as mezzanine debt, and senior secured loans of private middle-market companies, and includes equity interests, such as common stock, preferred stock, warrants or options. Apollo Investment Management (AIM) is the investment adviser for the Company and an affiliate of Apollo Global Management, LLC.
