Description

Cardero Resource Corp. (Cardero) is a Canada-based, mineral exploration company. The Company and its subsidiaries are engaged in the exploration of mineral properties, primarily in Mexico, Peru and Argentina. Cardero is assessing, acquiring interest in and exploring a number of mineral exploration properties, primarily those it considers to be prospective for gold, copper and iron. The Company considers its material properties to be the Iron Sands Project (Peru) and the Pampa de Pongo Iron Project (Peru). The Pampa de Pongo property consists of 8 mining concessions acquired by the Company from Rio Tinto Exploration and Mining, S.A.C. (Rio Tinto), plus an additional 10 applications for mining concessions made by the Company in June, 2008.
