AmeriGas Partners, L.P. (the Partnership) is a retail propane distributor in the United States based on the volume of propane gallons distributed annually. As of September 30, 2009, the Company served approximately 1.3 million residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and motor fuel customers in 50 states from approximately 1,200 propane distribution locations. The Partnership is a holding company and it conducts its business principally through its subsidiary, AmeriGas Propane, L.P. (AmeriGas OLP) and its subsidiary, AmeriGas Eagle Propane, L.P. (Eagle OLP and together with AmeriGas OLP, the Operating Partnership). The Partnership also sells, installs and services propane appliances, including heating systems. In certain areas, the Partnership also installs and services propane fuel systems for motor vehicles. AmeriGas Propane, Inc. is its general partner (the General Partner), which is responsible for managing the Company's operations.
