ARYx Therapeutics, Inc. (ARYx) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing a portfolio of internally discovered product candidates. The Company uses its RetroMetabolic Drug Design technology to design molecules that retain the efficacy of these original drugs and are metabolized through a potentially safer pathway to avoid specific adverse side effects associated with these compounds. Its product candidate portfolio includes an oral anticoagulant, tecarfarin (ATI-5923), designed to have the same therapeutic benefits as warfarin. Its second product candidate, (ATI-2042), designed to have the efficacy of amiodarone in Phase II clinical development for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, a form of irregular heartbeat; an oral prokinetic agent, ATI-7505, is in Phase II clinical development for the treatment of chronic constipation, gastroparesis, functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome with constipation, and gastroesophageal reflux dise
