Associated Banc-Corp is a bank holding company. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company owned one nationally chartered commercial bank, serving local communities within its three-state footprint (Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota). As of December 31, 2008, it owned one nationally chartered trust company. Associated Banc-Corp also owned 27 limited purpose banking and non-banking subsidiaries located in Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Vermont, and Wisconsin, which are closely related or incidental to the business of banking. As of December 31, 2008, its bank subsidiary, Associated Bank, National Association (Associated Bank), provided services through approximately 300 locations in approximately 160 communities. The Company operates in two business segments: banking and wealth management.
