Newcrest Mining Limited (Newcrest) is engaged in the exploration, development, mining and the sale of gold and gold/copper concentrate. The Company’s operations comprise a portfolio of seven mines, five mines in Australia, one in Indonesia and one in Papua New Guinea. Newcrest operates in one business segment being the gold mining industry and derives its revenue from the sale of gold and gold/copper concentrate. The Company's activities include six operating mines: Cadia Valley Operations, comprising Cadia Hill and Ridgeway (near Orange, NSW), Telfer Open Pit and Telfer Underground (Pilbara Region, Western Australia), Cracow (Gladstone Region Central Queensland) and Kencana (Indonesia). The Company’s projects include Cadia East, Ridgeway Deeps, Gosowong Extension Project and Hidden Valley. The Company’s operating businesses are organized and managed separately according to their location. Cadia Valley Operations, Telfer and Cracow are located in Australia.
