Description

African Iron Limited, formerly Stirling Minerals Limited (Stirling), is an Australia-based company principally engaged in resource mineral exploration. The Company carries out its operations in Australia and Congo. It has three business segments corresponding to its projects, Quidong, Mayoko and Others. In January 2011, the Company acquired DMC Mining Limited from Cape Lambert Resources Limited. In August 2011, through its new 85%-owned Congolese subsidiary, the Company was secured with a permit called Ngoubou-Ngoubou to prospect for iron ore in the Republic of Congo, West Africa. The permit covers an area of 944 kilometers, which hosts the Mayoko iron ore project. As of September 14, 2011, the Company owned 92% interests in Mayoko project. As of June 30, 2011, it had three subsidiaries, namely Quidong Minerals Pty Ltd, DMC Mining Pty Ltd and DMC Iron Congo SA.
