Description

Coal & Allied Industries Limited is engaged in coal mining and related coal preparation and marketing. The Company operates in three segments: Hunter Valley Operations (HVO), Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) and Bengalla mining (BEN). It operates and develops export thermal and semi soft coking coal mines in the Hunter Valley. During the year ended December 31, 2010, it completed a pre-feasibility study on the Mount Pleasant greenfield project. The Company�s projects include the Mount Pleasant, Lower Hunter Lands and Hunter Valley Operations South. The Mount Pleasant deposit is located adjacent to the Bengalla mine and four kilometers from the town of Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales. It owns 4,078 hectares in Lower Hunter Lands Project. Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an integrated operation of two open cut mines located adjacent to each other 15 kilometers south west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales.
