Artemis Alpha Trust plc is an investment trust company. Its investment objective is to achieve above average rates of total return over the longer-term and to achieve a growing dividend stream. Its investment policy is to invest mainly in the United Kingdom and selected international equities, with the potential for investment in limited liability hedge funds, cash and bonds, unquoted investments, derivative instruments and other investments and securities as appropriate. It will not invest more than 15% of its gross assets in securities issued by other United Kingdom listed investment companies, including investment trusts. It invests in various sectors, such as oil and gas producers, food producers, travel and leisure, aerospace and defense, and general financial. As at April 30, 2009, some of the its investments included Vostok Energy, Salamander Energy, Playtech, Lynton Holding Asia and Close Brothers Group. Artemis Investment Management Limited is the Company's investment manager.
