Air Methods Corporation is a provider of air medical emergency transport services and systems throughout the United States of America. As of December 31, 2013, the Company’s Air Medical Services (AMS) Division provided air medical transportation services in 42 states to the general population as an independent service (also called community-based services) and to hospitals or other institutions under exclusive operating agreements (also called hospital-based services). It transport persons requiring intensive medical care from either the scene of an accident or general care hospitals to skilled trauma centers or tertiary care centers. The Company’s Tourism Division provides helicopter tours and charter flights, primarily focusing on Grand Canyon and Hawaiian Island tours. Its United Rotorcraft Division designs, manufactures, and installs aircraft medical interiors and other aerospace or medical transport products.
