Alabama Farmers Cooperative (AFC) provides farmers in the Yellowhammer state a range of agricultural supplies and services. The co-op offers animal feed, crop fertilizer, and home-gardening items, such as seed and hand tools, as well as grain storage. AFC comprises 37 member associations, including more than 80 retail locations. Expanding through joint ventures, it boasts one of the largest farmer-owned agriculture business in the southeastern US. AFC owns Bonnie Plants, one of the biggest suppliers of vegetable and herb plants for the home gardener, and BioLogic, a maker of forage products for wild game. The company supplies the foodservice industry with fresh fish through its SouthFresh Farms catfish farm.
