It's always tea time at Whittard Trading. The company operates more than 70 coffee and tea retail shops in Great Britain and serves up more tea shops worldwide. Also known as Whittard of Chelsea, the company sells its products throughout the world, including in the US, Japan, and Australia. Whittard, which was founded more than 125 years ago in London, sells 130 varieties of tea. Its other products include Arabica coffee, hot chocolate, and tea brewing equipment, china, glassware, and espresso brewing machines. Whittard was a unit of Iceland-based Baugur until 2009, when Baugur collapsed and its assets were sold off. EPIC Private Equity's turnaround unit EPE Special Opportunities now owns Whittard.
