Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA is an Italy-based company engaged in the banking sector. It provides traditional banking services, asset management and private banking, including life insurance, pension funds and investment trusts. It operates though three segments. The Consumer Banking segment covers consumer loans, provision of financial and non-financial services to retail customers and wealth management and financial planning for private customers. The Corporate Banking division oversees the Group's business strategies targeted to small and medium enterprises, institutions and public administration, as well as legal persons in large corporate groups and financial institutions. The Corporate Center segment handles non-divisionalized entities and minor companies. On December 28, 2012, the Company finalized the disposal of its 60.42% shareholding in Cassa di Risparmio di Biella e Vercelli (Biverbanca) to Cassa di Risparmio di Asti.
