BacTech Mining Corporation (BacTech) is a Canada-based company. The Company owns bioleaching technology, which utilizes bacteria in the extraction of precious and base metals from refractory ores and concentrates. In June 2008, the Company acquired 33% interest in two Papua New Guinea properties from Yamana Gold Inc. On September 15, 2008, the Company treated the Castle Mine’s tailings deposit in Gowganda, North-eastern Ontario, for the recovery of cobalt, nickel and silver. Papua New Guinea properties are a host to gold mines, such as Porgera (20M oz), Lihir (45M oz), Ok Tedi (17M oz) and Bougainville (16M oz). Tailings Project included a metallurgical test program for drilling the tails. Two Boys uranium claims consisted of 73 map designated claims covering an area of 4,058 hectares, 50 claims are 100% owned by BacTech. The drilling program on Godbout Property consisted of approximately nine holes, and included a twinning of the 1969 discovery drill hole.
