HDFC Bank Limited (HDFC Bank) is a private sector bank and financial services company in India. The Company operates in three segments: retail banking, wholesale banking and treasury services. The retail banking segment serves retail customers through a branch network and other delivery channels. The wholesale banking segment provides loans and transaction services to corporate customers. The treasury services segment undertakes trading operations on the proprietary account, foreign exchange operations and derivatives trading both on the proprietary account and customer flows. As of March 31, 2009, HDFC Bank had 1,413 branches and 3,295 automated teller machines (ATMs) across 528 locations. On May 23, 2008, it acquired Centurion Bank of Punjab.
