The Investment Banking segment provides capital raising and advisory services to corporations and institutional investors. The Debt Capital Markets segment provides sales and trading in a range of debt securities. Broadpoint DESCAP provides sales and trading in mortgage and asset-backed securities. The Equities segment provides sales, trading and research in equity securities primarily through its broker-dealer subsidiary, Broadpoint AmTech. The Other segment generates revenue from unrealized gains as a result of changes in the value of the firm’s investments. In June 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of Gleacher Partners Inc., a financial advisory firm.
