Brookline’s deposits are gathered from the general public primarily in the communities, in which its banking offices are located. Brookline’s lending activities are concentrated primarily in the greater Boston metropolitan area and eastern Massachusetts. The Company has approximately 87% interest in Eastern Funding LLC (Eastern). Eastern specializes primarily in the financing of coin-operated laundry, dry cleaning and convenience store equipment, and businesses in the greater metropolitan New York area and selected other locations throughout the United States.
