BWAY Holding Company (BHC) is a holding company and operates through BWAY Corporation (BWAY), its wholly owned operating subsidiary. The Company manufactures and distributes metal and rigid plastic containers that are used primarily by manufacturers of industrial and consumer products for packaging. It has operations in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, and primarily sells to customers located in these geographic markets. It is a North American manufacturer of general line rigid metal and plastic containers. The Company’s business is organized into two segments: metal packaging and plastic packaging. In October 2009, BWAY completed the acquisition of the Ball Corporation’s plastic packaging plant and business located outside of Atlanta in Newnan, Georgia.
