Columbia Bancorp (Columbia) is a bank holding company. Columbia’s wholly owned subsidiary, Columbia River Bank (CRB), is an Oregon-state chartered bank. CRB offers a range of services to its customers, primarily small and medium sized businesses and individuals. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Bank had a network of 21 full-service branches throughout Oregon and Washington. In Oregon, the Bank operated 14 branches that serve the northern and eastern Oregon communities of The Dalles, Hood River, Pendleton and Hermiston, the central Oregon communities of Madras, Redmond, and Bend, and the Willamette Valley communities of McMinnville, Canby and Newberg. In Washington, the Bank operated a total of seven branches. As of December 31, 2008, the Bank had total assets of $1.12 billion, total gross loans of $864 million, total deposits of $1 billion, and shareholders’ equity of $75.05 million. In October 2008, the Bank announced the closure of the Lake Oswego Branch.
