China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (China Eastern) is a China-based air carrier. The Company, together with its subsidiaries, is principally engaged in the operation of civil aviation, including the provision of passenger, cargo, and mail delivery and other extended transportation services. The Company is primarily focused in the provision of domestic, regional and international passenger airline services. China Eastern operated approximately 6,090 scheduled flights per week (excluding charter flights), serving a route network that covers 134 cities within China and abroad. During the year ended December 31, 2008, it operated a total of approximately 423 routes. As of December 31, 2008, the Company accounted for approximately 19.3% of the total commercial air traffic handled by Chinese airlines. The Company operates primarily from Shanghai’s Hongqiao Airport and Pudong International Airport.
