Cereplast, Inc. is engaged in developing and commercializing bio-based resins. The Company develops and commercializes new bio-based resins through two complementary product families: Cereplast Compostables resins, and Cereplast Hybrid Resins. As of December 31, 2008, the Company’s intellectual property included 30 formulation patents and pending patent applications on a worldwide basis. The Company’s Compostable and Hybrid Resins is used in the converting processes, which include injection molding, thermoforming, blown film, blow molding, extrusion for profiles and extrusion coating.
