Core Molding Technologies, Inc. and its subsidiaries operate in the plastics market in a family of products known as reinforced plastics. The Company operates four manufacturing facilities in Columbus, Ohio; Batavia, Ohio; Gaffney, South Carolina, and Matamoros, Mexico. The Columbus and Gaffney facilities produce reinforced plastics by compression molding of sheet molding compound (SMC) in a closed mold process. The Matamoros facility utilizes spray-up and hand lay-up open mold processes and resin transfer closed molding process using vacuum infusion to produce reinforced plastic products. The Batavia facility produces reinforced plastic products by a spray-up open molding process and resin transfer molding (RTM) closed mold process using multiple insert tooling (MIT).
