Avion Gold Corporation, formerly Avion Resources Corp., is a development-stage company. The Company is a Canada-based gold producer, and exploration and development company focused on the acquisitions in Africa. On May 2008, Avion completed the acquisition of a 100 square kilometers land and mine asset, which contains the Tabakoto and Segala gold projects, located in Mali, West Africa. Avion completed a 15,341 meter 79 hole exploration and site evaluation program in the Tabakoto and Segala Projects. During the fiscal year ended November 30, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company completed the drilling of 26 holes in the Segala area. In fiscal 2008, the Company drilled a total of 29 holes in the Tabakoto. In May 2009, Avion acquired Dynamite Resources Ltd.
