Commander Resources Ltd. is engaged in the acquisition and exploration of gold, uranium and base metal properties primarily in Canada. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company focused its activities on a nickel property in Labrador, a gold project on Baffin Island, Nunavut and a copper project on Somerset Island, Nunavut. Exploration work performed by the Company in 2008, involved diamond drilling on three targets on the South Voisey’s Bay Nickel Project, Labrador, a detailed mapping and sampling program on a portion of the large Baffin Island gold project, and commencement of a 43-101 report on the Storm copper project in Nunavut. No drilling was completed on the Baffin Project in 2008. In March 2009, the Company completed an assessment of its wholly owned Green Bay property in Newfoundland, which is host to a small gold deposit, named Orion.
