Matamec Explorations Inc. is a mining exploration company. The activities of the Company focus on exploration of mineral properties for commercial exploitation. On December 31, 2010, the Company held 100% of six mineral properties in its portfolio and 50 % of three joint ventures. Its six properties are located in Quebec and four in Ontario. These properties total 899 mining claims covering an area of 35,000 hectares (400 square kilometres). It focuses its activities on exploration and the development of the Zeus property, including the rare earth elements (REE)-yttrium-zirconium Kipawa deposit, Temiscamingue, located in south-western Quebec. The Company holds a 100% interest in Sakami property. The Company holds a 100% interest in the Zeus, Zeus II, Tansim, Valmont and Vulcain properties. The Company holds a 50% interest in the Lesperance property. On March 31, 2010, the Company sold its 51% interest in Montclerg Property (Gold).
