Rusoro Mining Ltd., formerly Newton Ventures Inc., is a development-stage company. The Company operates in two business segment: exploration of mineral properties and the extraction, processing and sale of gold ore. Its business operations are mainly in Latin America, with a primary focus in Venezuela. The Company’s projects are the Choco 10 Mine, the Increible 6 gold deposit, the El Dorado project and the Valle Hondo project. On November 30, 2007, the Company acquired Venezuelan assets and liabilities of Gold Fields Netherlands Services BV (GF Netherlands), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited (Gold Fields). In July 2008, Hecla Mining Company announced that it has completed the transaction to sell its subsidiaries engaged in mining and exploring for gold in Venezuela to Rusoro Mining Ltd.
