(Popeyes), formerly AFC Enterprises, Inc., develops, operates, and franchises quick-service restaurants (QSRs or restaurants) under the trade names Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. Popeyes operates through two business segments: franchise operations and Company-operated restaurants. Within the QSR industry, Popeyes offers Louisiana style menu, which features spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp and other seafood, red beans and rice and other regional items. It has approximately 338 franchisees operating restaurants within the Popeyes system. It operates around 142 restaurants and its international franchisee operates about 101 restaurants. It operated and franchised around 2,225 Popeyes restaurants in about 47 states, three territories and over 28 foreign countries. Of its approximately 1,716 domestic franchised restaurants, approximately 71% were concentrated in Texas, California, Louisiana and Florida, among others.
