The company operates commercial ports, primarily on Scotland's Forth Estuary, including facilities at Burntisland, Grangemouth, Kirkcaldy, Leith, Methil, and Rosyth. Forth Ports also operates the port of Dundee on the Tay Estuary and Tilbury on the Thames. It oversees two oil and gas marine terminals and provides other marine services, including towage. Forth Ports also develops port-related real estate near the Forth and Tay estuaries. Forth Ports sold Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal shopping center to Resolution Property in 2012. The company was acquired by Otter Ports Ltd. in 2011.
