ICx Technologies specializes in sensing security threats. The company produces sensor systems that detect and identify chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) threats. Leading products include a portable explosive detector and the smallest spectroscopic radiation detector. Some of its products are components and subsystems that can be integrated into military and commercial customers' equipment. ICx has a history of entering into government-funded design and development contracts, and today it still serves key customers, such as the US Department of Defense and the US Department of Homeland Security. In 2010 ICx was acquired by FLIR Systems for about $264 million in cash.
