Miller Energy Resources, Inc. is an independent exploration and production company that utilizes seismic data and other technologies for geophysical exploration and development of oil and gas wells in the Appalachian region of East Tennessee and in southcentral Alaska. the Company offers these services, on a contract basis, to third-party customers primarily engaged in natural gas exploration and production. The Company focuses its efforts on activities in the Cook Inlet and Susitna Basins of Alaska as well as the Appalachian region of east Tennessee. The Cook Inlet Basin contains oil and gas deposits including multiple offshore fields. In August 2014, the Company acquired Anchor Point Energy, LLC, which owns and operates the North Fork Pipeline and Glacier Drilling Rig #1.
