Famous Dave's of America, Inc. (Famous Dave’s) operates restaurants. As of December 28, 2008, the Company operated 170 Famous Dave’s restaurants in 36 states, including 47 Company-owned restaurants and 123 franchise-operated restaurants. The Company’s restaurants offer full table service, and feature hickory-smoked off-the-grill entree favorites. As of December 28, 2008, 41 of the Company-owned restaurants were full-service and six were counter-service. Generally, its prototypical design includes the elements, such as a designated bar, a signature exterior smokestack, a separate entrance for its category-leading TO GO business and a patio (where available). The Company’s newest restaurants opened during the fiscal year ended December 28, 2008, had approximately 6,000 square feet, and approximately 175 seats, with an additional 50 seats in the bar, and 32 additional seats on the patio.
