Description

Digital Realty Trust, Inc., through its controlling interest in Digital Realty Trust, L.P. (the operating partnership) and the subsidiaries of the operating partnership, operates as a real estate investment trust (REIT). At December 31, 2008, through its operating partnership, the Company owned 75 properties, excluding one property held as an investment in an unconsolidated joint venture. Its properties are primarily located throughout North America with 13 properties in Europe. Its properties contain a total of approximately 13 million net rentable square feet, including approximately 1.6 million square feet held for redevelopment. The Company operations and acquisition activities are focused on markets where technology industry tenants and corporate datacenter users are concentrated, including the Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, Northern Virginia, Phoenix, San Francisco and Silicon Valley metropolitan areas in the United States and the London, Dublin and Paris.
