The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) knows how to reach you, your family, and your friends -- directly. The organization represents the interests of businesses and nonprofit enterprises engaged in direct marketing (selling their products through catalogs, the Internet, and other media). The DMA does so by offering training, conducting research, hosting conferences, and promoting the industry. The organization boasts thousands of members in the US and about 50 other countries. The DMA also endeavors to inform the general public about direct marketing, and it provides information about identity theft prevention and how to be removed from mailing and phone lists. The group was founded in 1917.
