Montana Exploration Corp. is a junior oil and gas exploration and production company. The Company focuses on the Bakken and Shaunavon oil opportunities underlying its land holdings in Montana. It is also pursuing potential acquisitions and participation in Devonian prospects in other regions of Montana. It holds around 392,000 gross acres of contiguous lands in the Blaine County Area of Montana, including the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, which has a Bakken potential and the balance of its exploration acreage has multiple targets for Jurassic oil production. The Company’s majority assets are located in Blaine County, Montana. Its Canadian assets are focused primarily at Viking Kinsella, Killam and Cardiff, Alberta. In the United States, it operates through its wholly owned subsidiary, Montana Land & Exploration, Inc. (ML&E), which is a driller in Blaine County and has accumulated a land base, developed and undeveloped gas reserves and has an ownership in a gas gathering system.
