Montana Exploration Corp. is an oil and gas company engaged in the business of, exploration for, and development, production and marketing of, petroleum and natural gas in western Canada and Montana. The Company has identified 13 Shaunavon exploration prospects on a seismic data set and has sought an option of additional lands with both Shaunavon oil and Eagle gas potential. The Company holds approximately 90,000 net acres of largely contiguous lands in the Blaine County area of Montana that are on the Shaunavon trend. It has farmed out Jurassic/Shaunavon and Bakken prospects on its lands on the basis that the industry partner would pay 80% of the costs of any new well to earn a 50% interest in that well and the same interest in adjoining sections (nine sections in the case of a Devonian test and six sections in respect of a Jurassic test). The Company's subsidiaries include ANG Holding Corp and Alberta Selecta Corporation.
