Entergy Louisiana, LLC, incorporated on December 31, 2005 is a subsidiary company of Entergy Corporation. The Company is engaged in generation, transmission, distribution, and sale of electric power in portions to Louisiana and Algiers. The Company owns a nominally-sized 550 MW combined-cycle gas turbine generating facility at Ninemile Point electric generating station. The Company also purchased approximately 3 MW from its landfill gas-fueled power generation facility located in Cleveland, Texas. The Company is responsible to acquire uranium pool and nuclear material to be used in fueling Entergy's Corporation nuclear units. Entergy Louisiana also leases nuclear fuel and related equipment and services. Entergy Louisiana generated 28% of the Natural Gas, 37 % of Nuclear, and 35 % of purchased power of Entergy Corporation. Entergy Louisiana purchases natural gas in annual amounts equal to approximately one-half of its projected annual fuel requirements for its generating units. The Company holds non-exclusive franchises to provide electric service in approximately 116 incorporated Louisiana municipalities. Entergy Louisiana also supplies electric service in approximately 45 Louisiana parishes in which it holds non-exclusive franchises.
