Description

Echelon Corporation (Echelon) develops, markets and supports an open standard, multi-application energy control networking platform. The Company's energy control networking platform consists of three tiers, or categories, of products: a device tier, a control node tier, and an enterprise tier. At the device tier, devices such as load controllers, lighting ballasts, meters and thermostats, embed the Company's Free Topology (FT) or Power line (PL) smart transceivers. These devices are managed by control nodes, in this case Echelon's Smart Servers. Echelon offers, directly and through its partners globally, a range of products and services. The Company classifies these products and services into two categories: Systems and Sub-systems. Systems include its smart metering solutions, which are targeted for use by utilities. Sub-systems include its components, control nodes and development software, and which are sold to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
