Emmis Communications Corporation (Emmis) is a diversified media company with radio broadcasting. The Company operates radio portfolio in the United States. As of February 28, 2009, Emmis owns and operates seven frequency management (FM) radio stations serving the three markets: New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Additionally, it owns and operates 14 FM and two amplitude modulation (AM) radio stations in St. Louis, Austin (it has a 50.1% controlling interest in its radio stations located there), Indianapolis and Terre Haute, Indiana. In addition to its domestic radio properties, the Company operates an international radio business and publishes several city and regional magazines. In July 2008, the Company completed the sale of its television station, WVUE-TV to Louisiana Media Company LLC.
