Enersis SA (Enersis) is Chile-based holding company that, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, is primarily engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric energy. The Company is a parent of Grupo Enersis, a group that comprises a number of entities active in the energy sector with operations established in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru. As of December 31, 2009, the Company had a total installed capacity of more than 14,000 megawatts (MW). The Company’s majority shareholder is Endesa Latinoamerica SA, with 60.62% of its interests.
