Hannover Rueck SE is a Germany-based global reinsurance company. The Company operates through two business groups: Non-Life Reinsurance and Life/Health Reinsurance. Non-Life Reinsurance provides structured reinsurance solutions under its Hannover Re Advanced Solutions brands. Its target markets are the United States and Germany, and its specialty lines include marine business, aviation business, credit, surety and political risks, among others. Non-Life Reinsurance's Global Reinsurance consists of treaty business, catastrophe business and facultative business. Life and Health Reinsurance operates under Hannover Life Re brand. It provides solutions for business start-ups, financial optimization and strategic marketing positioning. As of December 31, 2012, the Company had majority owned subsidiaries in Germany, Bermuda, the United Kingdom, Cayman Islands and Sweden, among others; as well as wholly owned subsidiaries in Germany, France and the United States, among others.
